 Meet the Owner

Captain Casey is a local boy originally from Oahu. He grew up on boats as his dad was a fisherman. He spent most of his childhood on boats and in and around the ocean. He grew up becoming a water man, learning to surf, kite board, paddle OC1, Scuba dive, Paddle board as well as hiking and other outdoor activities.

He moved to the Big Island back in the early 90's where he started studying ancient Hawaiian Sailing Canoes. He collected Koa wood from different parts of the big island used strip plank and fiberglass construction to build an authentic Hawaiian double hulled sailing canoe "Hahalualele". The Hahalualele can still be seen today on the beach of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel "Kauna oa' Bay" . After years of owning and sailing the canoe out of the Fairmont Orchid, he purchased and started operations with "Malaialena" in 2005.

Adventure X Boat Tours operated through the recessions of 9/11, the ups and downs of Tourism in Hawaii as well as Covid. The business has continued to have positive growth despite these hurdles.

After 25 years in the business, he has decided to retire. He is looking for someone to take over his hand crafted business here in the Big Island of Hawaii.

Feel free to send an email with any questions or concerns to Casey at his email listed below. Mahalo Nui Loa
